SENIOR ADVISOR

Henry Gultom has a distinguished career with over three decades of experience in both the public and private sectors. From 1985 to 1996,he served as the Assistant Resident Representative for Indonesia at the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), overseeing a wide array of programs in sectors such as agriculture, health, education, primary healthcare, income generation, water supply, and sanitation.

From 1999 to 2013, he led Corporate Affairs at the ASEAN Secretariat, where he provided strategic counsel to the ASEAN Secre- tary-General. He was instrumental in manag- ing talent and funds, engaging with the Indone- sian government (as the host country), and contributing to institutional development efforts, particularly following the adoption of the ASEAN Charter in 2008.

Before his time at the ASEAN Secretariat, Henry worked as an Operations Officer at Securicor Indonesia from 1996 to 1999, man- aging security transport operations, including cash-in-transit services and support for gold mining operations in Kalimantan. Earlier in his career, from 1979 to 1985, he worked as an Administrative Officer for a USAID-funded Provincial Development Program in Indonesia, collaborating with the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Additionally, Henry maintains strong ties with ASEAN government authorities and has a vast network within multilateral agencies including AusAID, GTZ/GIZ, the European Union, USAID, UNDP, ADB, JICA, and the World Bank.
